Marcela Holland

history
Marcela holds a BA Degree in Spanish and Microbiology from the University of California, at Berkeley. She also received a California Secondary teaching Credential and post graduate work from UC. She has been a participant in the Science teaching program of the Lawrence Berkeley Lab and the Language teaching program at Hayward State College. Marcela has been an AP* Biology and AP* Spanish Language/Literature teacher for more than twenty years. She has been a reader for both the AP* Language and Literature Exams for many years. Marcela has been an AP* consultant for the Western Regional Office for the past fifteen years and has been a presenter for the College Board sponsored seminars in the western region of the United States. She has been a presenter and program director of the Stanford AP* Spanish Seminars for the past eighteen years and the Bellevue, Washington AP* Seminars for the past three years. She is currently teaching at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, Ca. and has been a Department chair, Mentor teacher, and AP* teacher during the past twenty-five years, with the Mt. Diablo School District.

For students taking the class for university credit: Participants will write a unit-lesson teaching one literary theme across genres and literary periods, using two or three works from the AP* Spanish Literature list.
